The "Brest" FEZ Delegation Participated in the Republican Conference on Development of the Investment Infrastructure of Belarus

On April 1-2, 2021, the "Brest" FEZ delegation participated in the republican conference “Topical Issues of Development and Interaction of Investment Infrastructure Elements of the Republic of Belarus”. The conference was held in Mogilev on the basis of the “Mogilev” FEZ.


In the context of the global economic recession caused by the coronavirus epidemic and other unfavorable factors, the Belarusian economy has also been affected by negative trends in investment policy. In these conditions, the conference acted as a universal dialogue platform.The event was attended by officials of institutions and organizations, representatives of the expert community, which activities are aimed at developing investment and business climate in the Republic of Belarus. The conference included several thematic blocks, related to the current challenges for investment infrastructure, the role of free economic zones in the investment process, effective communication methods and attracting investors in the current environment. In parallel, round tables and trainings on the development of professional skills were held for certain categories of participants.


Within the framework of the thematic block "Free economic zones in the investment infrastructure of the Republic of Belarus" Fiodor Kolonchuk - the head of the "Brest" FEZ Administration, made a speech. The participants of the discussion exchanged views on modern communication methods and attracting investors to the implementation of new investment projects.

For reference: In 2020, foreign direct investment on a net basis to "Brest" free economic zone increased by 1.7 times as compared to 2019 and it amounted to $ 42.5 million. It is almost 60% of all FDI on a net basis attracted to the Brest region. In 2020 the share of the FEZ in the export volume of the Brest region increased by 1.1% to 29.2% and it reached $ 770 million. Production volume compared to the previous period - by 14.2% to Br2.6 billion. Investment in fixed assets increased by 29.4% and it amounted to Br187 million.

Practical recommendations and new approaches to solving the problems of developing the country investment infrastructure were formulated in the final resolution of the republican conference “Topical Issues of Development and Interaction of Investment Infrastructure Elements of the Republic of Belarus”.
