PRESENTATION OF THE FEZ "BREST" AT THE EMBASSY OF THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS IN THE STATE OF ISRAEL

On November 28, 2018, the presentation of the investment opportunities of the free economic zone "Brest" was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the State of Israel.
The Belarusian side was represented by the Deputy Chief of the Administration of the FEZ "Brest" Igor Verigo and the Head of the Department of Foreign Economic Relations and Economic Development of the FEZ Alexey Lachimov.
From the Israeli side, the event was attended by representatives of commercial companies specializing in retail, energy, real estate, heads of law firms, as well as the Israeli corporation for foreign trade risks insurance "ASHRA".


In his opening remarks, Ambassador of Belarus Vladimir Skvortsov informed about the positive dynamics of bilateral cooperation with Israel in various fields, noting, first of all, the gradual growth of mutual trade, which in 2017, with services, came close to the $ 200 million mark.
The ambassador also noted the role of the Belarusian-Israeli Joint Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation in these processes, the meetings of which in the recent period are held on an annual basis.


Deputy Chief of the Administration of the FEZ "Brest" Igor Verigo informed the representatives of the Israeli business community about the economic potential of the region, investment opportunities, as well as tax and customs privileges provided to foreign residents of the FEZ.
After the presentation, the delegation held talks with a number of businessmen.


A protocol of intentions was signed between the Administration of the FEZ "Brest" and Trade Chamber "Israel-Belarus" in the State of Israel. The prospects for selling products of residents of the FEZ on the Israeli market were discussed, incl. involving opportunities of institutions abroad. An agreement was reached on the exchange of relevant information of mutual interest.
