"Brestmash" JSC, a resident of "Brest" FEZ, increases the production of vans under the "MAZ" brand name. The cars are produced within the framework of a joint project of the BelavtoMAZ holding and the Chinese corporation JAC Motors. "Brestmash" JSC is a resident of "Brest" FEZ since 2015. The enterprise produces modern technological equipment for food industry, components for gas and electric household stoves; it also participates in the program for the production of spare parts for trucks and passenger vehicles.
The entry of "Brestmash" JSC into the BelavtoMAZ holding in 2013 created new opportunities for the development of the enterprise. New directions of activity of "Brestmash" JSC are the manufacture of components for the road transport production, as well as SKD assembly of heavy and passenger vehicles. A workshop with an area of about 6000 m2 was allocated for the van assembly line. The area was completely renovated and equipped with assembly line and other production machinery. The new conveyor was set up within seven months.
At present, "Brestmash" JSC produces two models of a van: a passenger 16-seat bus and a cargo van. The design of the vehicle was based on modern trends. The auto body is similar to the popular Mercedes Sprinter. As for the technical features, a 6-speed gearbox should be noted, which, with an engine of 150 horsepower, will save fuel. Individual airflow and lighting above the seats are provided for the convenience of passengers. Under the contract, components for the assembly of vans are supplied by JAC Motors. It is planned to gradually localize the production of parts and units in Belarus. Engines, electrical equipment, interior parts, etc. can be produced in our country.
Brest vans can be used to transport people and goods in various conditions of economic activity. The enterprise intends to sell its products to neighboring countries. With an engine that meets Euro-5 standards, it will be possible to supply vans to the European market. The first van shipments has already reached customers in Russia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine. In total, the enterprise will be able to produce up to 2000 vans per year.
