Referring to the conversation with Fiodar Kalanchuk - a head of the “Brest” FEZ Administration, BelTA informs.
This year it is planned to create up to 1 thousand new jobs in "Brest" Free Economic Zone. Last year, 890 jobs were created by the FEZ residents while opening new industries (721 - in 2018).
Five investment offers from Polish and German entrepreneurs are currently being considered, preparatory work is underway to register them as residents. The activities of the potential investors are related to light industry, woodworking, metal products, the production of components and assemblies for the automotive industry.
Moreover, the recently registered residents start their production activities this year. Thus, BTV-Agro LLC completed the construction of the first mushroom-growing complex. These products will be used by Bonshe JLLC, which produces champignons. Accordingly, new jobs will be created at each of these enterprises.
The organization of the production of campers on the territory of the SEZ is being worked out (small living quarters on wheels in the form of a trailer, or combined with the car itself). Taking into account that the Brest FEZ has already all the associated industries (furniture, gas stoves, sandwich panels), there are good prerequisites for cooperation activities.
The negotiations are being held with potential residents from France and Germany. They will still need some time to consider their investment offers and make decisions.
Currently, there are 71 residents in the Brest Free Economic Zone, including 47 with the participation of foreign capital.
21.5 thousand people work at the FEZ enterprises.
Since the FEZ creation the total investment volume exceeded $ 1.6 billion, last year it was $ 107 million.
In 2019, the FEZ business entities exported goods worth $ 729 million (105.4% of the level of 2018). Exports include 75 countries of the world.
